Turning Around
I find that every time I drift away from faith in Jesus Christ by the harsh winds of life (life can be hard sometimes) I am brought back to my relationship with Him because I feel as if part of me belongs to Him. I sin everyday, and sometimes I sin longer. Sometimes I turn a cold shoulder to everyone and everything but myself. Often my soul will turn hard and I will not care. I will become ignorant and arrogant. Was not this way even with the psalmist? When living selfishly, for the moment, simply for pleasure, I always remember the sweet fragrance that a spiritual life brought to me and how much better it is to live like a follower of Christ than to be alone by myself.
Simply put it, it is better to believe the truth, repent (turn away from sin) and be forgiven and to apply your life to it than not caring what God thinks about your life (God does think about your life a lot, He sees everything). Even when you don’t feel anything and you are hard like a cold stone, you feel shaken and battered and you are sick of life, Christ will always bring you back with a word from a dove.
For the Spiritual Unconvinced — Are you honest about your situation before a God who sees and hears everything? Have you considered turning to Him in times to trouble? God wants to start a relationship with you through Christ. He does hear your prayers. When it feels like He doesn’t, we need to keep praying because above the clouds is the sunshine.
